In the course of several internal analyses, our customer, a German public broadcaster, discovered that very different test management concepts were being used for various applications and systems within the company. The aim was therefore to develop a standardized test management procedure and to roll this out step by step in the individual departments.
In December 2021, sommer + spohr was commissioned to analyse the existing test management concepts, check for optimization potential and design a uniform procedure with the parties involved. In addition to the technical and organizational aspects, support with suitable software tools was also examined.
In several workshops, our team analyzed the current procedure with stakeholders from various specialist departments and recorded detailed requirements for a standardized procedure. On this basis, we developed a customized test management concept with the stakeholders. It includes process descriptions, instructions for creating test cases and organizational measures for linking test management to the existing procedures in the area of renewal projects and operations management. As Jira had already been introduced in-house as a solution for activity management, the customer attached great importance to supporting test management with extensive Jira functionalities.
The test management concept is currently being prepared for the rollout in the service areas, which should be completed by the end of 2022.
