Munich local broadcaster repositions itself: sommer + spohr accompanies relocation and new studio construction

München.tv Studio

With the move to a new building and the construction of modern studio space, münchen.tv has taken an important step in its development and made targeted progress in its expansion and professionalization. The project marks a significant milestone in the station’s further development. sommer + spohr provided comprehensive support for the project, including project coordination, PMO and strategic consulting.

As part of the project, the team created two different studio spaces: a multifunctional studio with an LED wall and robotics, which is also suitable for AR and VR applications, and a green box. The project team also planned two additional sets, a lounge and a coffee bar, which can be used flexibly for the production of discussion formats with guests. The aim was to create future-proof production environments that can be used flexibly both technically and spatially and open up new possibilities for program design and production processes.

One particular challenge was that the new building was still under construction at the start of the project. As a result, the project team not only coordinated the studio-related trades, but also closely involved the general construction trades in the coordination processes at an early stage. In this complex environment, sommer + spohr took on the central role of contact partner for all studio-related trades – including studio design, studio construction, robotics, camera technology, studio networking and lighting.

The range of services provided by sommer + spohr included the structured recording of requirements, the solicitation and follow-up of offers and the overall project coordination during the relocation. In addition, the team supported the client at a strategic level in the realignment of the station – both in discussions with the management and in talks with investors. In addition, sommer + spohr accompanied the change process with coaching measures for the introduction and optimization of processes.

With the successful completion of the project, münchen.tv has created the conditions for modern, efficient and scalable production structures. We are delighted to have supported the broadcaster in this important development step and to have jointly laid the foundations for further growth and new prospects.
