Optimized test management at ARD Sternpunkt
ARD-Sternpunkt provides central services for the distribution of content within ARD and places the highest demands on broadcast security and service quality. In order to ensure this level in the long term, the team continuously optimizes the technical systems used and comprehensively tests all changes before they go live. To this end, the project team developed a structured test management procedure based on the Jira system already established in-house.
sommer + spohr tested a Jira configuration (Jira-TM) developed jointly with Norddeutscher Rundfunk with regard to the specific requirements of ARD Sternpunkt. At the same time, the team provided practical training to all those involved and introduced them to a standardized procedure with Jira-TM using a specific use case – the test management for the upgrade of the in-house video-on-demand solution.
As a result, the test managers gained valuable practical experience in using Jira-TM and established the basis for standardized, efficient test management at ARD-Sternpunkt. On this basis, the team is now gradually introducing the standardized test management procedure for all relevant systems.
