Challenges and solutions: Dismantling an outdated media asset management solution
Our customer was faced with the challenge of dismantling the old Invenio infrastructure, consisting of hardware and software components from Imagine Communications (formerly Harris Broadcast). The main drivers were the end-of-life situation, security risks and loss of expertise due to obsolete technologies. At the same time, a new solution was to be designed that would be based on the new organization-wide standards and could be set up with fewer redundancies and therefore more cost-effectively.
sommer + spohr concentrated on the following work packages in order to develop a comprehensive concept:
- Analysis of the existing infrastructure
- Development of a migration strategy
- Development of an optimized operating model
- Evaluation of various solution scenarios and decision-making aids
- Comprehensive reviews of concepts and development of innovative approaches with stakeholders
The project is a prime example of the challenges associated with the transformation of outdated infrastructures. Through comprehensive analysis, strategic planning and innovative solutions, a future-oriented basis was created that meets both technological and economic requirements.
