A look over the shoulder at the lunchtime magazine

As part of the bi-weekly production of the ARD Mittagsmagazin in Berlin, the participants experience the intensive phase immediately before and during the live broadcast during crunchtime. In particular, the spatial fragmentation and the strong 1:1 communication complicate the processes. This often leads to increased stress for everyone involved and can also encourage errors in the transmission process.

Within a period of just six weeks, we analyzed crunch time, held discussions with all those involved and jointly developed over 40 measures in workshops to help reduce stressful situations in the long term. In doing so, we took special care to harmonize the measures with rbb’s multimedia strategy so as not to develop an isolated, stand-alone solution for the lunchtime magazine.

On the basis of this catalog of measures, rbb can now gradually implement improvements and optimize work processes in the long term.
