The crunch time of the ARD Mittagsmagazin, which is produced every two weeks in Berlin, is the hot phase shortly before and during the live broadcast. It is strongly characterized by spatial dissection and intensive 1-to-1 communication. This can lead not only to excessive stress for everyone involved, but also to errors in the broadcasting process.
Within a quick action of only 6 weeks, we were able to observe the crunchtime, talk to all involved and jointly identify more than 40 measures in workshops to help reduce stressful situations in general. Particular attention was paid to developing the measures in line with RBB’s multimedia strategy, so that no special solution is developed for the midday magazine. With the help of the catalog of measures, RBB is now in a position to initiate improvements step by step.
