ARD Sternpunkt provides central services for the distribution of content on ARD. In order to guarantee broadcast security and service quality at a high level, the technical systems used for this purpose are subject to ongoing optimisation, which must be effectively tested before productive use. For this purpose, a suitable procedure based on the Jira system already used in-house was to be designed.
sommer + spohr was commissioned to test a Jira configuration (Jira-TM) developed together with Norddeutscher Rundfunk with regard to the specific requirements of ARD-Sternpunkt. In addition, the participants were familiarised with a standardised procedure based on Jira-TM using the specific test management for the upgrade of the in-house video-on-demand solution.
As a result, the test managers were able to gain practical experience with Jira-TM and thus lay the foundation for a standardised test management procedure at ARD-Sternpunkt, which is now to be gradually introduced for all systems.
