For the replacement of the previous R3 system with ARD’s central S4HANA system, a project organization was defined at NDR that divided the various SAP modules for finance, controlling, materials management, business trips and fees into sub-projects.

In 2023, sommer + spohr assumed responsibility for operational project management in the procurement, contracting and materials management sub-project and supported the project until the final stage of the changeover in June 2025. In addition, the team provided support in training planning for key users and users as well as in the business analysis for the newly introduced e-procurement system Ariba, which was used to implement fully digitalized ordering processes.
